Colposcopy Updates from the ASCCP

  • To convey the major updates to the colposcopy guidelines published by the ASCCP (American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology) in 2020, and understand the basis for those changes  
  • To understand how individual risk assessment for cervical pre-cancer and cancer is taken into account when deciding if and when a person needs colposcopy or other management  
  • To learn about the tools clinicians can use when making decisions about the management of abnormal Pap smears and colposcopy results by going through the ASCCP Management Guidelines mobile application  
To practice going through clinical cases using the key principles of the guideline updates and individual risk assessment tools (including the app), so that clinicians feel comfortable making these management decisions when it comes to their own patients
