FAMILY MEDICINE ADVOCACY DAY
Wednesday, May 1, 2024 12:30-4:30 PM (in Person)
The University of Massachusetts Club
One Beacon Street, 32nd Floor
Boston MA, 02108
Please join Mass AFP leadership for an IN-PERSON Advocacy Day starting with lunch at 12:30pm at the University of Massachusetts Club on Beacon Hill. There is no charge for lunch or any part of this program.
This event is an opportunity for physicians, residents, and students to advocate for the issues that are important to family physicians and to learn more about Mass AFP’s legislative priorities and advocacy efforts.
The speaking program starts at 1pm and includes time to hear from our lobbyists on key bills, and then time to prepare for our meetings with state legislators and their teams. We will present Senator John J. Cronin with the Mass AFP Legislator of the Year Award and then hear from him as our Keynote Speaker.
We will break up into small groups and walk to the State House to meet many legislators and staffers where you will be able to advocate on behalf of the MassAFP, Family Medicine, and your patients, discussing issues that are important to you. We will be identifying key bills to support over the next few months. Potential topics include the Primary Care for You (PC4YOU) legislation, telehealth, health equity, and funding for primary care development. We welcome seasoned advocacy folks, first-time attendees, and everywhere in between.
Please check your calendars and register as soon as possible as this event is likely to fill up quickly. We hope to see you on May 1st!
